By downloading, installing, or using MedFlash ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you do not have permission to use the App.

These Terms apply to all users of the App, including without limitation users who are browsers, students, educators, healthcare professionals, and contributors of content.

2. Description of Service

MedFlash is an educational mobile application that provides:

• Pre-made flashcard decks covering medical topics
• Spaced repetition scheduling for optimal learning
• The ability to create custom flashcards and decks
• Study statistics and progress tracking
• Quiz mode for self-assessment

3. Educational Purpose

3.1 Not Medical Advice

The content provided in MedFlash is for educational purposes only. It is not intended to be and should not be used as:

• Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
• A substitute for professional medical judgment
• The sole resource for patient care decisions
• The only resource for board exam preparation

Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions and verify information with authoritative sources, textbooks, and current clinical guidelines.

3.2 Content Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date content:

• Medical knowledge evolves continuously
• We cannot guarantee the accuracy of all information
• Users should verify critical information from primary sources
• We welcome corrections and updates from users
• Content is designed to complement, not replace, standard medical education resources

4. User Accounts and Access

4.1 No Account Required

MedFlash does not require user registration or account creation. All data is stored locally on your device.

4.2 Device Requirements

To use MedFlash, you need:

• An Apple device running iOS 17.0 or later, or macOS 14.0 or later
• Sufficient storage space for the app and your data

5. User Content

5.1 Your Custom Content

You retain all rights to flashcards and decks you create within the App. You are solely responsible for any content you create, including ensuring it does not:

• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Contain illegal, harmful, or offensive material
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Contain patient information or protected health information (PHI)

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

The pre-made flashcard content, app design, code, graphics, and other materials are owned by MedFlash or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
• Use our content for commercial purposes
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

6.2 Trademarks

"MedFlash" and our logo are trademarks. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.

7. Purchases and Subscriptions

7.1 In-App Purchases

MedFlash offers premium features through in-app purchases. All purchases are:

• Processed through Apple's App Store
• Subject to Apple's terms and conditions
• Final and non-refundable except as required by law

7.2 Subscriptions

If you subscribe to premium features:

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• You can manage subscriptions in your device settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• MERCHANTABILITY
• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• NON-INFRINGEMENT
• ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEDFLASH AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Any loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Any damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App
• Any damages resulting from reliance on content in the App
• Any clinical decisions made based on content in the App

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
